Biography
Roger Braswell, an average golfer, chose to name his coaching business Mulligan Makers because everyone deserves a “do-over”. The reason most people hire a coach is to overcome an obstacle or expedite their goals. Much like golf, the true challenge lies within the person themselves, not in their ability or lack of passion.
Roger’s background includes over 40 years of diverse work experience. He served in the US Navy and completed his 23-year military career in the Virginia Army National Guard. He recently retired from his federal civilian career with the VAARNG Inspector General. As a civilian, his experience includes positions as a blue-collar worker, inside sales, outside sales, and business owner. Working directly with small businesses on their advertising campaigns provided tremendous insight into their needs.
Roger obtained his ICF certification at George Mason University through the Leadership for Organizational Well-Being coaching program. He has worked with small business owners, executives, leaders, and individuals on a pro-bono basis to help them identify what’s holding them back and create a clear pathway to their most important goals. After retirement, Roger turned all of his focus to coaching.
Roger is active in the community through the Rotary Club of Powhatan where he served as president in FY 2021-22. He’s also an active member of American Legion Post 354. A life-long resident of the Richmond area, Roger recently returned to Chesterfield after calling Powhatan home for over 20 years.
